Arora informed that for the first time in the Western UP as well as in the NCR region, Yashoda has introduced a breakthrough in medical Field, Diagnostic Nuclear Imaging as well as facility to administer Radionuclide therapy, at Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad.
The Sr.Consultant & Head of Nuclear medicine Department, Dr. Manishi L. Narayan said, that department is well equipped with state of art Dual headed gamma camera (MMG- GE) specially designed to perform SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography) as well as Planar imaging.
‘Nuclear Medicine’ is a Specialty, where very minute amount of radioactivity is administered to the patient either to diagnose or treat the disease. Hence, various body functions can be assessed and quantified .Nuclear medicine is now a well established and rapidly evolving field of clinical practice. It has transformed the way of disease detection and treatment process.
The Nuclear Medicine facility at Yashoda Hospital will ensure multifaceted approach in diagnosing various cardiac, neurological, renal, skeletal, oncological & endocrine abnormalities. In addition, radionuclide therapy will also be available for treatment of patients suffering from thyrotoxicosis and for pain palliation of skeletal metastases.
